12 Month Worship

12-Month Worship Training Series

Don’t miss this opportunity to deepen your worship beyond musical proficiency. Develop foundational tools and gain greater insight to more effectively participate on a worship team or as an independent Christian musician.

This 12-Month training program for worship musicians is a great extension of the 7-day residential summer worship camp* or a great introduction to development for others. Sessions are held for 3 hours once per month.

Participants are connected to and mentored by experienced worship leaders who comprehend the fundamentals and heart posture of intimate worship played skillfully.
Training sessions incorporate guest presenters and conversations from a diverse cultural context of worship, increasing awareness in leading worship in diverse settings. The curriculum includes discussions that focus on spiritual development, enlarging the participants capacity to understand worship as a lifestyle.

Each interactive session will help musicians:


• Gain greater insight into the richness of scripture and how to incorporate it in their daily lives

​

• Learn about prayer and experience the confidence of knowing how to pray for themselves and others


• Learn how to include songs in their repertoire that encompass scripture


• Learn principles of team building for effective collaboration


• Develop the discipline necessary to steward their gifts and maximize their creativity and skillset


• Learn how to positively impact, re-energize, and engage with their worship community

GROUP TRACK

Group Track

 Each of these Group Courses cover a variety of music and technology skills from beginning to advanced levels.

 

After learning basic techniques, students from all four group courses have an opportunity to work together and alongside live musicians, audio, and visual engineers to record original songs, culminating with the production of a worship service or event.

VOCAL GROUP TRAINING

This small group vocal ensemble is trained for vocal purposes within their own home church worship team in additional to outside venues as possible music outreach. (see FAQ)

·      90-minute interactive group learning weekly
 

·      Includes 2 private one-hour one-on-one                   vocal coaching sessions

·      Learn how to identify and sing harmonies

​

·      Learn how to sing as a cohesive worship                   team or for small ensemble presentations

·      2 group sessions that include working with a           live band

SONGWRITING

You hear it, hum it, and have been creating original melodies and lyrics.  Now what?  Come learn more about the process of songwriting and work to complete your projects.

·      Distinguished styles of writing –                                     congregational vs personal story

·      Melody/lyrical writing

·      Storytelling in music writing

DIGITAL MUSIC PRODUCTION

If you have an interest in creating and recording audio tracks utilizing the basics of mixing and mastering, this course is for you!

 

 

SERVICES:

·      Learn the basic techniques of producing                   music  

​

·      Basic understanding of audio technology

​

·      A robust understanding of digital audio                     workstations and plugins

​

·      EQ, compression, and audio affects

​

·      How to communicate with songwriters/artists

·      Recording original songs created by                           songwriters

​

·      Recording small group ensemble                                 presentations

​

·      Working with the MD for setting up and                     running tracks

​

·      Making music in collaboration with others

AUDIO/VISUAL TECHNOLOGY

Learning techniques for sound engineering, acoustics for live church events, and video streaming.

 

 

SERVICES:

·      Foundational understanding of live sound               engineering and videography

​

·      Working with the tech team

​

·      Running audio for church

​

·      Learn the basic fundamentals of live                           streaming

​

·      Understanding how to utilize live sound and           camera equipment

​

·      Understanding the board, the lighting, and               other technical aspects involved in                             organizing and conducting a worship service         or outreach event

Ensemble Track

 ENSEMBLE TRACK

The Worship Academy Ensemble Track is the signature piece of IOP, training participants in a variety of worship styles and techniques, as well as spiritual enrichment studies.  The leadership and music development components both involve intentional collaborations and team efforts tailored not only for specific individual  goals, but also for ensemble group performance opportunities.
